I
am the 2nd oldest in my family of 6. I have an older sister
and 2 younger brothers. My sibs and I were all home schooled
back in the day. In fact, I was home schooled from 3rd grade
through my senior year in High school. I loved every minute
of it!
Now, I’ve found myself here, at
Cincinnati Christian University. But the road to get here
wasn’t easy…mostly, because I’m an indecisive
human being. As a junior in high school, I pretty much had
my future figured out. Actually, I wasn’t planning
on going to college. I knew what I wanted to do and I decided
that college wasn’t really going to aid me in my future
profession. Well, I was correct on the “knew what
I was going to do part”, but I hadn’t really
looked into the college aspect. Here was my dilemma, I wanted
to be a worship leader, but I was concerned about finding
a school close to home that provided a Christian education
and atmosphere. I didn’t know of any place in Ohio
that offered a degree in worship. I was also worried about
the type of atmosphere that I would be subject to. I wanted
to be in a place that ranked God higher than academics.
I wanted to be in a place where students and faculty support
one another in prayer, and I wanted to be in a place where
I could grow healthily into the woman that God has created
me to be. I know that’s a lot to ask for, but hey,
I drive a mean bargain. I don’t mess around, ya’ll!!
Anyway, at the time of my indecisive
struggles, one of my high school friends was taking classes
here at CCU to get credits for her freshman year. She suggested
that I tag along with her and check out the school. So I
did. CHA CHING!! CCU met my standards.
I enrolled in the fall of 2004,
and here I am, a freshman! I am currently a voice major.
My teachers are awesome and silly. They make learning less
of a pain, and the people here, my friends, are all amazing.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the campus is beautiful, there
are plenty of fun things to do and always fun people to
hang around! Most importantly, I am confident that this
school will prepare me for the things ahead that God has
called me to do.
